About Me — Richard Valdez: Helping Filipino Families Build Their American Dream in the Bay Area
“If you set goals and go after them with all the determination you can muster, your gifts will take you places that will amaze you.”
Mabuhay! I’m Richard Valdez, a Filipino-American Realtor based in San Francisco, proudly serving Filipino families, expats, and homebuyers across the Bay Area.
Like many in our community, I started my journey with a dream—to build a better life, create stability for my family, and own a home to call our own. Today, I dedicate my career to helping others in our Filipino community achieve that same dream.
From the Philippines to the Bay Area: A Story of Home, Hope, and Hard Work
I was born in the Philippines and moved to San Francisco when I was 23. As the eldest of three siblings and part of a first-generation Filipino-American family, I understand what it means to start over in a new country, to work hard, and to dream big.
For more than 30 years, the Bay Area has been my home—a place filled with culture, opportunity, and community. I’ve seen firsthand how many Filipinos have built successful lives here, and it inspires me every day to help more of our kababayans do the same through homeownership and real estate investment.
My Journey: From Technology to Real Estate
Before entering real estate, I spent over 14 years in the technology industry here in San Francisco. That experience taught me how to manage complex projects, communicate effectively, and deliver results—skills that I now use to guide my clients through one of life’s most important decisions: buying or selling a home,(resume).
My passion for real estate began when I bought my first investment property in Potrero Hill. That experience opened my eyes to the potential of real estate as a tool for financial freedom—something I want every Filipino family to experience.
My Mission: Helping Filipino Families and Expats Thrive
Many Filipino homeowners and expats in the Bay Area share a common goal: to find a place where they can belong, build equity, and create lasting memories.
As a Filipino Realtor in San Francisco, I understand our culture, values, and priorities—family, faith, and financial security. My mission is to make the real estate process simple, transparent, and rewarding for every client I serve.
Whether you’re:
A first-time homebuyer dreaming of owning a home in the Bay Area,
An expat or balikbayan looking to invest in property, or
A homeowner planning to upgrade or sell—
I’m here to guide you every step of the way, like family would.
What Makes My Approach Different
Real estate isn’t just about transactions—it’s about transformation.
I focus on turning real estate goals into lifelong relationships by treating my clients as I would my own family. I take pride in providing personalized care, local insight, and honest advice that helps you make confident decisions about your future.
“When my clients finally hold the keys to their new home, I feel like I’m celebrating a win for all of us in the Filipino community.”
Why the Bay Area Is the Perfect Place for Filipino Homeowners
The Bay Area is home to one of the largest and most vibrant Filipino communities in the U.S.—from Daly City and South San Francisco to Union City, Fremont, and beyond.
Each neighborhood has its own charm, from close-knit Filipino businesses to family-friendly parks, schools, and churches. Whether you’re relocating, investing, or buying your first home, there’s no better place to build your future than right here in the Bay.

A Final Thought
“Ang bahay ay hindi lang tirahan — ito ay puso ng pamilya, simula ng mga pangarap, at patunay ng pagsisikap.”
(A home is not just a place to live — it’s the heart of a family, the beginning of dreams, and a testament to hard work.)
