Why I Created Casa Alon
There comes a point in every career when you stop asking, “What do I do?” and begin asking, “Why do I do it?”
For me, that question became the foundation of Casa Alon.
After many years helping clients navigate real estate in San Francisco, my husband Jonathan and I began planning our own retirement in the Philippines. Along the way, we purchased two properties—one in Makati and another in Baguio City—believing that, as experienced real estate professionals, the process would be relatively straightforward.
It wasn’t.
Navigating an international real estate purchase taught me firsthand the challenges that many Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), expatriates, retirees, and international buyers face when purchasing property in the Philippines. From understanding different transaction processes and coordinating with multiple departments to managing documentation across time zones, I realized that buying a home abroad requires more than finding the right property. It requires guidance, trusted relationships, and someone who understands both sides of the journey.
That experience inspired me to create Casa Alon.
